Lana Whiting | Waitakere OsteopathLana Whiting M.Ost, B.AppSci (HB)

Lana Whiting completed her Masters in Osteopathy in New Zealand. Lana is registered with the Osteopathic Council of New Zealand (OCNZ), ACC and is a member of Osteopaths New  Zealand (ONZ).

Lana has always had a passion for helping people and feels as though she can achieve this by aiding the body in its natural healing process with the holistic approach of Osteopathy. Lana enjoys  treating a wide range of people of all ages including athletes, desk workers, pregnant mums and babies. Lana lives rurally on a farm with her fiance, horses and dogs. She enjoys spending time with                                              her family and friends, loves animals and travel.

 Sheehan Robb M.Ost, B.AppSci (HB)

Sheehan Robb is a fully registered Osteopath with OCNZ and has completed clinical development in paediatrics and cranial treatment. After graduating she moved to Invercargill where she treated many farmers, athletes, office workers, infants, and pregnant women.

Sheehan is passionate about helping people get back to what they love doing. She uses a combination of hands on osteopathic treatment with lifestyle advice. She has a keen interest in nutrition and aims to further develop her knowledge in this area.

Sheehan understands the requirements of elite training and has trained in gymnastics and cheerleading for which she attended the world champs.

Outside of work Sheehan is a keen snowboarder, and runner. She is currently training for a half marathon with hopes of running the 60km Kepler challenge in December 2017. She also enjoys hiking, playing guitar, meditating and travel. She and her partner are currently developing a gluten and dairy free food blog.

 

Osteopathy and Acupuncture

Justin Miller | Waitakere OsteopathJustin Miller B.Sc. BAppSc(HB), Dip. acupuncture, Dip. acupressure massage, MNZRA

Justin combines hands-on experience in massage and a passion for the study of natural health. He has over 15 years of experience in acupressure massage and bodywork combining different styles of massage and acupressure such as Chinese tui na, Japanese shiatsu, Traditional Thai Massage, myofascial release and sports massage.

Justin also has a Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Applied Science (Human Biology), National Diploma of Acupuncture, New Zealand College of Chinese Medicine Diploma of Acupuncture, Diploma of Acupressure Massage, Diploma of Herbal Medicine and several certificates in acupressure massage. Justin has also been a guest lecturer for the Master’s Program at the New Zealand School of Acupuncture and TCM, and is currently working on a Master’s Thesis on the use of acupuncture by New Zealand osteopaths. In 2015 Justin was a winner of the Men’s Health Trust Scholarship.

When not working or studying, Justin enjoys martial arts and spending time with his wife and two young boys.

Acupuncture

Rachel is an ACC registered acupuncturist with a Bachelor of Health Science majoring in acupuncture.

Rachel is always saying she loves what she does! She loves the simplicity of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM).

She enjoys the mechanical aspect of musculoskeletal treatments and uses TCM to encourage faster healing and recovery, or building up the bodies energy prevent repetitive injuries occurring. She also specializes in women’s health, ART and fertility as well as obstetrics.

Rachel has always had a strong base in her Chinese culture. Believing there are gems in the philosophies of TCM that can be passed into the fast paced Western world we live in. Not just taking a path of meditation and abstinence, but incorporating small conscious every day acts that nurture you to wellbeing and teach you not to be too busy for yourself.

While not at work Rachel can be found at home in Piha practicing tai chi and Qigong, enjoying the nature and energy of the west coast, walking or doing some yoga. Over the winter months she can be found sneaking to her hometown of Ohakune for some snowboarding.
